Yay! I finished reading my first BL Novel, Junai Romantica by Fujisaki Miyako and Nakamura Shungiku! I actually finished reading it sooner than I thought I would. Actually, I got so into it last night that I read 30 pages before I went to bed. I really enjoyed it tho! I prolly would've finished it sooner if I hadn't spent so much time online or listening to dorama cds. Honestly, it's not the Japanese that slows me down when it comes to finishing a book as much as it is setting aside time to read it. And I have to say a lot of this free time was made during my commute to and from work on the train, as well as, the breaks in btw work.

Anyhow, I loved the book! Btw, this book is, of course, loosely based on the lives of the characters from the BL manga Junjou Romantica.<--check out my layout! Junai Romantica is actually a book that Usami Akihiko wrote with Misaki, Takahiro and the novelist himself as his models for the characters. Needless to say, he makes himself look really good and cool in the novel...and quite the opposite to his mean personality and unperfect-self in real life. But, wow the things that he made Suzuki Misaki (not to be mistaken for manga Takahashi Misaki) say! It's no wonder Misaki nearly had a breakdown after reading the novel. Geh...so mushy! But good I say! Good!

After listening to the dorama cd for Junai Romantica 2. I think they really did a good job at keeping true to the story. The Junai Romantica 2 cd has the onsen story from the first book and then Akihiko's b-day story. As for the onsen story, the cd of course doesn't have as much details as the novel does. And I really loved the details about Misaki's insecurities and Akihiko's personality. And err...uh, I also learned a lot of new vocabulary...of the iyarashii variety that is...

So yes, now I know a lot of names for body parts and yes, I always wanted to know what saliva was. Yes, so helpful.
And I know so many knew kanji now! I'm really liking this whole learning from novel thing. I saw so many of the same kanji repeated that I now can at least recognize the kanji and the meanings if not remember exactly how to pronounce them...and vice versa. It's great!

Anyway back to the drama cd! I really liked the birthday story! Akihiko was so scary when he attacked Misaki tho...after seeing her with that girl. I was so freaked out by him! And I loved the part when Misaki waited out in the cold for Akihiko to return home! So sweet! But so cruel of Akihiko to not contact him on exactly how late he'd be coming home. Argh! But they made up for it all in the end.

Well, I've already started on my new novel! I'll write about it tomorrow maybe!
Oh, and I still gotta write about the other Junjou Romantica cds!!

PS. Don't you just dig my new icon! YUL love baby!! I hope the rumours Kim Jung Hoon possibly coming to Japan are true!

Oh! This is exactly how I hope to learn the kanas and kanji. Yay, you! I'm so glad to hear that you could do it because it means there's hope for me. Did you happen to buy the novels online? I really want to get my hands on them so I can start! Oh! I just saw that you're living in Japan. I'll be back in August, but I didn't want to wait that long. I'll have to give Kinokuniya a ring and see if they can get them for me. I hope I'm as successful in reading as you! I'm definitely going to need an いやらしい dictionary. ^_^
