I'm finally back in Japan after spending winter vacay in the States. Oh, US, how I will miss you so. You never know what you're missing until you go and see for yourself.

What I'll miss about America
1. Going to a restaurant and not having to say "NON-SMOKING" (Why? Because at least at the restaurants in MD and DC, all restaurants are now SMOKE FREE so all tables are now NON-SMOKING!!! A law made for our OWN good! YAY!)

3. AMERICAN FASHION/KOREAN FASHION Seriously, I never thought I'd say this. But I prefer shopping for clothes back home more than I do in Japan now. (Why? Because damnit! we've got more variety of styles now. And the current fashion trends/styles are HOTT in the US. I've never seen so many clothes that I'd liked better than the fashion in Japan. And not only can I choose from American fashion, I can also wear KOREAN fashion styles thanks to Forever 21. (yes their clothes are cheap and may not last for long but damnit you can say the same for the quality of Japanese clothing and it's more expensive!) Besides Korean fashion is so cute! And even if I miss Japanese fashion when I return to the US, most of the good stuff that I see here in Japan IS available in the US as far as I could tell.

4. Being able to buy stuff under 100 yen.

5. Driving (I usually prefer to be in the passenger seat where I can relax and sleep if I want but even so, I DO miss driving and being able to get from place to place without having to worry about missing the last train or bus.)

6. Central Heating

Well those are the main things I'll miss for now. I'm sure there are more but well I'm still jet-lagged to think straight.
The trip to America was much easier despite the 1 extra luggage I had to carry compared to today's trip back to Japan. Today, my flight to Detroit was delayed, then once we go to Michigan none of the agents were at the gate to connect the gate to the plane so it took like 20 mins before someone came which made me late again to board my flight to Japan. Luckily I made it on that flight just in time...then, on the Narita Express to Ikebukuro, we got stopped at Shinjuku and delayed for 30 mins due to the strong winds before being told to deboard the train and catch the Saikyo Line to Ikebukuro instead. Then the train that we took on the Saikyo Line was delayed another 20 mins. UGH. But finally we made it home safe and sound.
It's gonna take me a while to get used to being back in Japan but by the time I get back to work on Tues. I should be settled. Now, I just need to figure out my sked for this month.

Thank YOU!! Yeah, it's been really windy over here. Then today, there was even a little earthquake. I'm just glad it hasn't rained since I've arrived here. There's nothing I hate more than having to drag luggage home in the wet cold rain.^^ I can't believe it's colder here than it is back in MD.

Sorry, I didn't kno. What part of MD are you from?
I love Korean fashion. I especially like their clothes because theyre so cute and feminine. I'd love to go shopping in Korea because I hear it's so cheap.

I guess I'm just getting a bit bored with Japanese fashion lately because...it seems to be all the same...for the winter at least. Not to mention everyones wearing the same clothes. And the choice in colors is always the same...so bland. Its either pastels or really ugly shades of blue, brown and gray. And when I went to the store 2 weeks ago, I was hard press to find a skirt that didn't have some weird frumpy cut. And this coming from a girl who usually likes the diff. styles in skirts. But this winter's trend was just not my thing...So I guess going back to the States and seeing what was IN there was refreshing for me.:p Hopefully, there are better trends coming out here for the Spring.

I love steak, too. I miss cheap steak. I mean back home Im used to eating steak almost every week. But here, I only eat it maybe once every 3 months or something when I go to the Outback Grill in Shibuya. It's so damn expensive. In fact, I miss beef in general. It's either pork or chicken here. But what I miss most is prolly tacos and burritos!:p

lol hehehehe
Well i used to live in Fairfax VA for a long time. XD now i live in Gaithersburg, MD. which is like 30-40 minutes away.

Korean clothes are cheap man... and pretty. Koreans are cheap people and got nothing else to do but decorate themselves pretty to ego-up their prides -.-;;; (it's true man XD) but oh well. it makes them have nice clothes in the end.

At least sushi over there is cheaper. XD I wish i can eat sushi every week. haha.

I do understand japanese fashion sometimes are similar or same. XD they generally have their standard of "pretty" and they mass produce it! lol. here, you have to search high and low for something pretty since everyone's taste is so unique and strange man... XD
