I saw the NANA movie today! It was a sweet movie but they changed a few things from the manga. And when I was watching scenes, I couldn't help but compare it to the manga! I think they handled the flashbacks well...reminded me of BleachMyu but I think this was a lot easier to understand for ppl who haven't read the manga. I loved all the concert scenes.
Needless to say, none of the actors are as HOTT! as the original characters...tho Nari-kun is pretty close (even if his hair isn't quite Nobu)! And I'm a fan of Tamayama Tetsuji already so when I heard he was gonna play Takumi...I was a bit taken aback since he doesn't come to mind as being Takumi-like to me. But for the little screen-time he did have, he was great! aaaahh, the movie left off just when NANA and Takumi just met! I wonder if they'll be a NANA 2. I wanna see more Takumi and Nobu!:p
Btw, anyone know what Reira said? Yuna said that so fast...or maybe I was just caught off guard by the sudden English but I don't recall her saying that in the manga. Tho, my memory could just be really shoddy. Yuna is American so I wonder just how fluent she is in Japanese. I mean did they give her that one English line only because her Japanese isn't that good...? I wonder. I think Mika's acting is ok. She could use some improvement but not too bad. But what was awkward were those Nana and Ren kissing scenes. They looked a little uncomfortable. Haha, during the bath scenes, I kept wondering just how close Ryuhei was gonna move towards Mika.
Maa, overall it was a fun movie! It made me wanna run out and get the latest NANA! But I controlled myself. I need to save up!<--we'll see how long this kinda attitude'll last
I was most amused that a few of the boyfriends who came to watch NANA with their gfs were also enjoying the show. I could hear the guy in front of me laughing during a lot of the funny scenes. There were even salarymen without any girls with them watching, too. That was interesting. And the whole theater was laughing during the scene where Takumi opens the door for NANA...I thought that was funny that they all were laughing about that.

None of us caught the english. It was WAY too fast and unexpected. X_x I didn't like Nobu's hair either!!!!! ;_; It makes me cry! In attitude he was PERFECT but they should have at least done the hair right!!!!! *cries* I thought that Shin was really ugly too, and totally 100% wrong. ^^;; He was supposed to look like a skinny little bishounen, and instead he looked like a Shibuya boy without the tan. -_-

I thought that rocker Nana should have had better stage presence for her concert scenes, too....

Other than that it was a really good movie! I liked it a lot, and the ending was by far the best part!!

Dude,I didn't know you were a NANA fan! How much of the manga have you read? I'm up to vol. 11 right now. I get so emotionally drained after reading the tanks.

Yeah, the only think I heard Reira say clearly was like the last part of her line "It's a saying!" Shin was definitely not as sexy as manga Shin. Maybe they shouldve gotten a Johnny's to do him..haha. I say that because they can pull off the sexy younger looking guy roles pretty well. Not to mention theyre popular for being skinny bishies.

I was shocked at how much they changed...like when Nana went home to visit her family...her older sis was supposed to pick her up from the station. There was even a dialogue where it was explained why they sister had picked them up instead of them going by taxi. And how come they didn't make Nami (Nana's younger sis) a kogal? I was expecting her to be all tanned and such but she was nothing like that.

Anyhow I was just surprised that changed so much...

I LOVE Nana! ^__^ I actually had only read a little bit of the manga, but in preparation for seeing the movie, I caught up in the fansubs (through ch 34). I have the later volumes, but so far I haven't even finished reading ch 35 because it takes me so long. ^^;; They're WAY above my reading level, I have to look up almost every single word, and even then I'm still not sure what they're saying a lot of the time.

I'm a HUGE fan of Yazawa Ai. Her artwork is the most gorgeous thing that I've ever set eyes on! =D Ever since I started reading Paradise Kiss in english a few years ago, I've been in love with her stuff. ^^

OMG Yes Nana's family!! That was the thing that I was most angry about in the movie! I was REALLY looking forward to seeing Nana's family, and then they were totally changed! When I was in the theater, I wasn't the only one who was gasping at the change. (The theater was packed, and there were a lot of guys actually!) I wish that they'd just left them out, instead of changing them. It was like they said, "hey, we hate kogals and fat girls, so they can't be in this movie" or something. X_x I was REALLY looking forward to seeing the kogal sister! ;_; *cries*
